Membership Category

Membership Categories
Full members Voting membership, full time administrative head of local government: Dues 0.15 % of salary with a minimum of $75.

Assistant membership voting membership, full time administrative assistant, assistant city/county manager or administrator, management analyst, assistant to manager/administrator, department head. Dues $75.00.

Retired membership Former full member now retired from active professional life who does not qualify to be a Life Member

Affiliate membership any person who has an interest in professional local government management but is not eligible to apply for membership as a voting member shall be eligible to apply for this classification. Dues $75.00.

Consulting membership those interested in cooperating with practicing administrators in the advancement of professional knowledge, such as individuals employed by private companies. Dues $350.00.

Academic Membership university or college professors or academics. Dues $25.00

Student membership persons enrolled in an academic program at any college or university pursuing a degree in public administration or related fields, or interested in pursuing a degree in local government management. Dues $20.00

Honorary members** are chosen for distinguished service to professional municipal management in Wisconsin.

Life members** are retired from the local government management profession and have completed 25 years of membership, and, for those same 25 years, have been eligible to be an officer of the association. Also, full members who have been eligible to be an officer of the association for at least 15 years and retire from active service with a local government at age 65 or older are eligible for life membership. There are no dues required of these members; however, we do ask that they help us maintain accurate records by updating their directory profile as necessary.

There is a 3% convenience fee added to every credit card transaction. To avoid this fee you may join by mailing a check payment and a completed membership form, which can be found by clicking above.
Please Note:
- This form is for membership information only, 1-2 business days after this form is submitted an e-invoice will be emailed to the address listed for payment processing. That is when payment can be made.
- After payment is made a welcome email will be sent to the member with log in instructions for the members only portion of the website. Once in the members only section you can complete your directory profile.
- Membership is not transferable; membership is in the name of the individual and shall not attach to the position or community.
